CHIC, the leading hotel owner and developer in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), has announced the implementation of Accor’s digital solutions across its owned portfolio.
This move will bring cutting-edge technology to five hotels under the Novotel and Ibis Styles brands, totalling 660 keys across four cities in the country.
The implementation of Accor’s innovative digital solutions aims to provide a unique and seamless experience for customers. CHIC will be the first in the DRC to integrate cloud solutions with mobile keys and Opera Cloud systems, enabling fast check-in and check-out processes for guests.
With the use of their smartphones, guests can access their rooms without needing physical keys or visiting the front office. Additionally, the integration of these digital solutions will reduce the ecological footprint of the hotels by minimizing the use of paper and magnetic cards.
Mr. Khalil Manji, Partner at CHIC, expresses excitement about this partnership with Accor, a major player in hospitality innovation. He emphasizes the commitment to invest in cutting-edge solutions that surpass the needs and expectations of travelers staying at CHIC’s hotels in the DRC.
Clinton Govender, IT Director Southern Africa at Accor, highlights the importance of this strategic partnership with CHIC, which strengthens Accor’s presence and leadership in the DRC, a key market in Africa.
The collaboration aligns with Accor’s vision of augmented hospitality and its commitment to sustainable development.
The Accor Key solution offers customers the convenience of using their smartphones to open the doors of Accor hotels. This technology allows guests to access their rooms, meeting rooms, elevators, and other spaces without the need for physical keys.
The application is compatible with Android and iOS systems and integrates with the ALL – Accor Live Limitless Lifestyle Loyalty application.
Novotel, a brand within Accor, is known for its comforting and energizing destination hotels. With over 530 locations in more than 60 countries, Novotel offers a range of services for both business and leisure travelers.
The brand focuses on providing spacious, modular rooms with natural design, 24/7 catering with nutritious choices, dedicated meeting spaces, attentive staff, family zones, multi-purpose lobbies, and accessible fitness centers.
CHIC, on the other hand, is a hotel development company founded by a group of DRC-based businessmen. Their goal is to bring international hospitality standards to the DRC and transform the industry in the country.
The partnership with Accor will result in the development of three Novotel and two Ibis Styles hotels across four cities. These state-of-the-art facilities, built by CHIC themselves, will offer world-class hospitality services to guests.
Through this partnership, CHIC aims to provide an unprecedented experience for travelers in the DRC, leveraging Accor’s digital solutions to enhance their stay.
The integration of cloud-based solutions, mobile keys, and Opera Cloud systems will streamline operations and provide guests with a seamless and eco-friendly experience.
