Dimension Data has unveiled a new Managed Secure Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SDWAN) service.

Developed in collaboration with strategic partner Cisco Technologies, this service consolidates several essential capabilities to address both IT operations and cybersecurity risks, reshaping the way businesses operate and secure their IT assets.

The innovative service holds promise for businesses of all sizes, streamlining secure access to applications and services irrespective of the user’s location. The elastic scalability of the service is an ideal solution for today’s dynamic work environment, especially in the wake of COVID-19.

Samuel Wanduga, Dimension Data’s Head of Digital Network Services Product and Commercialization, has lauded the solution as a critical supporting pillar for corporate digital transformation, ensuring future readiness.

The service efficiently extends network reach to roaming and remote users, which, while broadening the attack surface, is smartly counterbalanced with its innate capabilities to significantly mitigate cyber risks.

In the words of Wanduga, “Working in concert with Cisco, we aim to leverage our industry-leading expertise in crafting innovative solutions that continually resonate with our clients’ unique needs.

Integrating Cisco Meraki’s Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and Managed SDWAN capabilities into our suite of solutions, we provide not only enhanced network security but also improved flexibility and connectivity to meet shifting business demands.”

The new service is positioned to deliver a spectrum of benefits including cost efficiencies, increased agility, efficient management of middle mile/underlay services, secure remote work, existing applications/services optimization, enhanced security visibility, and alignment to business growth objectives.

Lastly, the new service is designed for customization, with a choice of options including system integration, bring-your-own-network, or a fully managed service offering.

Pi Sewbalak, Business Development Manager: Service Providers & Channel Partners for Africa at Cisco Meraki- Cloud Networking Group, expressed his excitement about the launch and emphasized Cisco’s commitment to simplifying IT.

He highlighted the role of the Cisco Meraki Cloud Managed Dashboard in fostering an optimized IT experience and securing the modern hyper-distributed network.
