The event, scheduled from October 17 to October 19, 2023, will provide a platform for Ericsson to discuss the importance of leveraging connectivity to support sustainable digital and economic growth in Africa.

The company aims to empower people through digital and financial inclusion and promote industrial progress through digitalization and sustainability, ultimately working towards a connected future for Africa.

Ericsson will emphasize its dedication to driving sustainable growth in Africa by facilitating the adoption of 4G and 5G technologies.

The company will discuss its technology and digital solutions that address the continent’s connectivity needs, accelerating Africa’s digitalization journey.

According to the Ericsson Mobility Report for June 2023, Sub-Saharan Africa is projected to experience the highest growth in total mobile data traffic. The region’s mobile data traffic is expected to increase by 37% annually between 2022 and 2028, driven by investments in 4G networks and the migration of customers from 2G and 3G.

This growth will primarily be fueled by a four-fold increase in smartphone traffic, with an average data usage of 19 GB per month per active smartphone by 2028.
