SEACOM appoints Lucas Ndala as new Group CFO

SEACOM has appointed Lucas Malamule Ndala as the new Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO), succeeding Richard Schumacher, who previously held the position.

Ndala’s appointment as GCFO represents a significant milestone in SEACOM’s ongoing journey of expansion and advancement. With a career spanning over two decades, Lucas brings a wealth of financial expertise and industry insight to the organization.

He boasts a remarkable track record, having served in various executive roles within the Telkom Group, including CFO, COO, Group Executive for the Group CEO Support Office, and board member of the Telkom Group division, Openserve. Additionally, he has held the position of CFO at BCX and served as interim CEO of Postbank.

His extensive experience and strong academic background make him exceptionally well suited to steer SEACOM’s financial strategies with precision and innovation.

Simultaneously, Richard Schumacher will assume a new role as Chief Wholesale and Strategic Alliances Officer. In this capacity, Richard will play a pivotal role in nurturing stronger relationships with SEACOM’s global customers, partners, and suppliers, further bolstering SEACOM’s strategic position in the market.

These leadership changes come as SEACOM progresses through a transformative phase. The company is dedicated to meeting the evolving needs of its customers, driving sustained growth, expanding into new markets, and transitioning to a regional focus with localized customer attention.
