Tejas Networks Signs MoU to Boost Telecom Infrastructure in Egypt

Tejas Networks, a leading telecom and networking products company based in India, has inked a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with key Egyptian entities – Telecom Egypt, ITIDA, and NTI.

The agreement aims to replicate the success of Tejas Networks in implementing transformative projects like Bharatnet and NKN in Egypt.

The collaboration encompasses various areas of cooperation, including the training of Egyptian engineers and technicians in cutting-edge telecom and networking technologies, establishing local manufacturing and R&D facilities for Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) products, and providing technical support services in Egypt and the wider Africa and Middle East region.

Dr. Amr Talaat, Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting its potential to enhance cooperation between Egypt and India in the realm of communications and information technology. He emphasized the agreement’s focus on promoting top-tier communication products, attracting Indian investments, generating employment opportunities, and fostering research development in communication fields.

Eng. Mohamed Nasr El-Din, CEO of Telecom Egypt, underscored the strategic significance of the long-term partnership with Tejas Networks, praising the company’s reputation for innovation and expertise in the telecom industry. He emphasized the importance of leveraging the latest communication technologies to elevate Telecom Egypt’s service quality and infrastructure.

Anand Athreya, CEO of Tejas Networks, emphasized the milestone achieved through the MoU, highlighting the shared goal of advancing Egypt’s digital transformation journey.

He stressed Tejas Networks’ commitment to leveraging its extensive experience in designing and implementing advanced networks to support Egypt’s technological evolution and nurture the local telecom ecosystem.

Yogesh Verma, Vice President for the Middle East and Africa at Tejas Networks, pointed out the company’s decade-long presence in the region and its tailored approach to meeting local network requirements efficiently.

He highlighted Tejas Networks’ expanded portfolio, including 4G and 5G products, as a catalyst for enhancing business operations in the Middle East and Africa. The MoU is seen as a pivotal step in deepening collaboration with Telecom Egypt and other stakeholders in Egypt’s telecom sector.
